Shark Tank India 2: Namita goofs up by calling kitchen king masala a brand; Aman taunts Amit, 'aap samajh hi nahi paate business'

In the latest episode of Shark Tank India 2 , entrepreneur brothers Akash Agrawal and Ashish Agrawal pitched their spice brand and left Sharks surprised by their ask for Rs 200 crores valuation. Emcure Pharmaceuticals co-founder Namita began by asking why they chose to enter this cluttered market. She even mentioned that she loves cooking and uses different brands for different dishes. The pitchers shot back saying, 'Market bahut bada hai. Aap Pune mein baethe hain, aap wo teen masalo ko dekh rahe hain,'' Following this, Namita chuckled at their response and co-sharks burst into laughter.

Further, Aman Gupta teased Namita that she knows a lot about spices, after which she challenges herself that she can name all the spices in the market. The pitcher asked her to name for masala brand, she starts with Parampara and then went on to say, ‘kitchen king’ which leaves the pitcher and co-sharks surprised. The pitcher corrected her that it is not a spice brand but a product name. But she persisted, “Kitchen king ek brand hai bhai”, however, she later accepted she goofed up with a smile.

Later, Anupam Mittal alleged that the pitchers have not come for any investment but only for marketing. Still, he makes an offer of Rs 1 crore for 2 percent with a condition. Aman Gupta then made an offer of Rs 1 crore for 2 percent equity. Vineeta gave an offer of Rs 50 lakh for .75 percent equity and 50 lakh debt. But Anupam later tore the cheque after finding the pitcher a little confused. Namita walked out of the deal citing there is no CEO in the company. Amit Jain starts asking more questions about their business, following which Aman said decision has to be made now. Responding to him, Amit said, “Lete hai Aman itna jaldi mat machao. Baat toh karne nahi di aapne mujhe. Aap hi bolte rahe” Aman hits back at him, “Aap samjh hi nahi paate businesses hum kya kare.”

After a lot of discussions on counter offers, Aman sealed the deal with the pitchers at Rs 1 crore for 1.25 percent equity. Even then co-sharks felt that pitchers only came for Aman. But pitchers beg to differ saying they came for Anupam, and Aman jokingly tells them he is backing out, which leaves everyone in splits.
