Filmmaker Shankar is quite upbeat about his upcoming movie, Indian 2. During the audio launch event, the director promised a highly entertaining movie, driven mainly by Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan's performance as Indian thatha.

"This film is a product of thought: what will happen if Indian thatha returns to the country in the current situation? Kamal Haasan has given an excellent performance as Indian thatha. He will set the screen on fire whenever he appears," he told the media at the music launch event.

The producers held a grand audio launch event for Indian 2 on Saturday at Chennai's Nehru Stadium. The who's who of the Tamil film industry were present and shared their thoughts on the impact Indian had on them.

Kamal is also overjoyed with Indian 2 and Shankar's direction. Notably, last year, Kamal gifted an expensive watch to Shankar as a token of appreciation for his work on the movie. "I saw some of the important scenes of Indian 2 today. My heartfelt wishes to Shankar. My wish is that this shouldn’t be the peak. Because this is really the peak of your career. Do not consider this as your best and soar high in search of new heights," Kamal said earlier.

Kamal earlier revealed that one of the reasons he agreed to act in a sequel to a movie released nearly three decades ago was Shankar's impressive storyline for Indian 2 and 3. The filmmakers have already shot both installments, and the post-production work is ongoing.

Shankar noted that Indian 2 will hit the screens on July 12, and six months later, they will release Indian 3.
