After her highly anticipated debut film Bedhadak got shelved, the actress will now be making her Bollywood debut with Vikrant Massey’s Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. Shanaya Kapoor’s Bollywood debut

According to the latest reports, Shanaya will mark her Bollywood debut alongside 12th Fail actor Vikrant Massey in his upcoming film Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. The source revealed that Shanaya will be essaying the role of a theatre actress in the film, while Vikrant will portray the role of a blind musician in this heart-stopping tale.

Inspired by the short story, The Eyes Have It, written by Ruskin Bond, the two main characters will embark on a transformative journey of love and self-discovery against a beautiful musical backdrop.

    Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan

Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan is reported to go on floors later in October this year and is scheduled for a mid-2025 release. After shooting in Mussoorie, the cast will also reportedly shoot in Mumbai and Europe.

Director Santosh Singh, who had helmed Broken But Beautiful, Apharan, and Ranneeti: Balakot & Beyond, will direct Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan from the adapted screenplay by Niranjan Iyengar and Mansi Bagla. Niranjan Iyengar, dialogue writer for My Name Is Khan, Ra. One, D-Day, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, was earlier set to direct the project but was later replaced by Santosh. Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan is backed by Mansi Bagla and Varun Bagla of Mini Films.

Actresses Tara Sutaria, Alaya F, and Pratibha Ranta were earlier thought to be a perfect match for the film, but the makers finalised casting Shanaya instead.

For those unaware, Shanaya was earlier supposed to mark her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar produced and Shashank Khaitan-directed love story, Bedhadak, alongside Lakshya Lalwani and Gurfateh Pirzada. Due to unforeseen reasons, the film was shelved, halting Shanaya’s film debut. Lakshya later made his film debut with Kill while Gurfateh was recently seen in the web series Call Me Bae.

Vikrant Massey, on the other hand, is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film The Sabarmati Report. He is currently shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming web series. He was recently seen in the crime drama film Sector 36, where he played the role of a serial killer.
