Shahid Kapoor wants to do a ‘chill’ film after Jersey and Kabir Singh; says ‘they suck the emotion out of you’

In his acting career which spans over 19 long years, we have seen Shahid Kapoor ace many genres-- romantic comedies, action dramas and even thrillers. However, his last outings mostly featured him in an intense light. While he began his journey as a chocolate hero, over the years he has evolved into one of the most versatile performers of Bollywood. Fans truly enjoy watching him immerse himself in these characters on-screen, but it is equally fun to see Shahid’s lighter side during promotions. Which makes us wonder when he will sign a comedy next!

Well, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Shahid was asked the same. To this, he replied, “Somebody has to offer me, I am actually wondering why I am doing all these intense roles again and again. Dramatic roles let's not just say intense. But, I would love to do something like this. I am actually quite tired after Kabir Singh, after Jersey and you know even Ali’s film and to some extent even Raj & DK’s shows, these are all intense dramatic, slightly broody in very different ways, they are all very different from each other, but they are very demanding and they suck the emotion out of you. So I would love to do something easy and chill.”

We truly hope a filmmaker offers Shahid a fun romantic comedy or an out an out comedy film soon! Meanwhile, fans are eagerly waiting for his sports drama Jersey to arrive in theatres. While the film was slated to release this weekend, makers decided to push it once again to reportedly avoid a clash with KGF Chapter 2. Now fans will have to wait till 22nd April to watch Shahid shine as a cricketer on the silver screen.
