There have been many films which have been landmark films in the career of the Bollywood superstar’s career. Topping the list of these films include the evergreen Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Veer Zaara, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Jawan Pathaan … the list is endless. Amongst all these films, there is a particular film, whose mere utterance is bound to bring a broad smile on everyone’s faces. And the film is none other than Kal Ho Naa Ho.
And guess what! The Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan starrer Kal Ho Naa Ho is now all set to be re-released this weekend. The film’s production company Dharma Productions not only confirmed the news, but also gave many a reason to smile about it!
The film Kal Ho Naa Ho, which was released on November 28, 2003, goes onto clock a wholesome 21 full years of love, hope, romance, friendship, relationship and … life! On its part, Dharma Productions took to social media and shared the news stating, ‘‘Laal ab sabke dil ka haal hai’, hone wala ab kamaal hai! #KalHoNaaHo re-releasing in cinemas on 15th November at @_PVRCinemas @INOXMovies!’
In no time, there was an array of messages from the die-hard fans of the superstar Shah Rukh Khan and also the cult film Kal Ho Naa Ho. One user wrote, ‘Our Angel Aman is coming back Ready with my tissues to cry again & ofcourse Laal Mera Dil Ka Haal Hai Next should be Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna please’, another user posted, ‘Dil Bohut Joro Se Dhak Dhak Ho Raha Hai.
As for the film Kal Ho Naa Ho, besides the awesome trio of Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan, the film also starred a wholesome cast including Sushma Seth (in the role of the evergreen Lajwanti aka Lajjo), Reema Lagoo (in the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s mother Namrata Mathur), Lillete Dubey (in the role of Jaswinder aka Jazz), Delnaaz Paul (in the role of Jaspreet aka Sweetu Kapoor).
How can anyone forget the twin jodi of Kammo and Vimmo, which were played by the extremely talented Shoma Anand and Kamini Khanna! The film also had a couple of super-effective and impactful cameos by Simone Singh (in the role of Camilla) and also by Soanali Bendre (in the ever-endearing role of Shah Rukh Khan’s doctor).
As for the film Kal Ho Naa Ho, while it was directed by Nikhil Advani, it was produced by (the late) Yash Johar. The film (as per Wikipedia), went on to collect a total of Rs. 860.9 million at the box office.
