In a recent interview with Peter Bradshaw, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan revealed a whole lot of things from his personal life, ranging from his waking up time to a storey specially meant for all his awards and much more! I am very shameless about…
By his own admission, Shah Rukh Khan said that, he was very shameless about enjoying awards ceremonies and getting awards. He added that, he gets (even now!) a little nervous if he had to give speeches. And, when it’s about the international awards, he becomes furthermore nervous as he always needs to make sure Indian cinema was presented well, as cinema for India was such an important thing.
I have a nine-storey office and 300 (and counting) awards!
By his own admission, Shah Rukh Khan, when asked whether he had a trophy cabinet (to stock all his uncountable awards), King Khan said (read ‘revealed’) that, he does and also that he had a nine-storey office and on every floor, he had some of the awards (300 of them!). He then, clarified that, it was not a trophy room, but a library which had been designed like an English library.
His dream when he joined Bollywood!
Shah Rukh Khan said that, when he came into the industry, he was an athlete and that his life’s dream was to have a six-pack, wear a white vest, have a lady with his arm around her, blood on his face and a gun in his hand! In the same breath, he added that, his dream was to enter a room, and when someone says: ‘Who are you?’ and he shoots them!

In the same interview, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that, he generally eats only one meal, which was by his personal choice and had nothing to do with intermittent fasting! Post that, he hits the gym for just half an hour a day. SRK went onto reveal that, he goes to sleep at five in the morning and wakes up about nine or 10 if he was shooting. He also added that, times when he reaches home at 2 am, he takes a bath, works out and then … hits the bed!
Indian cinema like a cabaret…
When Peter Bradshaw asked shah Rukh Khan about the future of Bollywood, the superstar actor, in his trademark style, said that Indian cinema was like a cabaret, which had music, comedy, drama, a mishmash. He then, termed it as something which doesn’t isolate film into comedy, romance, horror, musicals as it told the whole story.
