The identity of the caller however remained unknown.

The latest update on the threat case is that, Mumbai Police have now identified the unknown caller who had not only issued a threat to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan but also had demanded Rs. 50 lakhs!

As per a report in India Today, it has been reported that, the man who had issued the threat, happens to be an advocate by profession. The Mumbai Police have now arrested the man from his Raipur residence in Chhattisgarh, which happens to be his hometown.

As per the report, it’s been said that the accused Faizan Khan had told earlier that he would come to Mumbai on November 14 to give his statement to the Bandra police. But, considering the fact that he had been getting a lot of threats since the past two days, he wrote to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and had requested that his statement be recorded virtually, keeping in mind his safety.

Readers may note that, after Shah Rukh Khan had received the death threats, the Mumbai Police, had registered a case under the sections 308(4) (extortion involving threats of death or serious injury) and 351(3)(4) (criminal intimidation) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the caller.

As for Faizaan Khan, it's been said that he had cited the film Anjaam (which starred Shah Rukh Khan, and had been released in the year 1993), where Shah Rukh khan ‘had not only killed a deer, but also had asked his staff to cook and eat it.

As per a video on Youtube, which was posted by Faizan, he had alleged that the superstar actor had links to terror elements. In his statement to the media, Faizan said, “I hail from Rajasthan. The Bishnoi community (which is from Rajasthan) is my friend. It is in their religion to protect deer. So, if a Muslim says something like this about deer, it is condemnable. Therefore, I raised an objection”.
