Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan to begin shooting for King in January 2024, film touted to be an action thriller

It was earlier reported that Shah Rukh Khan will be teaming up with his daughter and actress Suhana Khan for an action-thriller flick. This will be the first time that the father-daughter duo will be sharing the screen space together. The movie will be helmed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand’s Marflix Entertainment. Now, in an exciting development, it has been relieved that SRK and Suhana will begin shooting for the same in January 2024.

A source close to the movie has revealed to Pinkvilla, “The film has been titled King and will be a one-of-a-kind action thriller with strong dynamics shared by Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan. One would have expected SRK and Suhana to team up on a relatively soft film against the backdrop of father and daughter, but they are ready to break the norm by collaborating for the first time on an action thriller.” The prep for the same has reportedly begun in full swing.

Siddharth who directed the superstar in Pathaan will be overlooking the action sequences in the film. The source added, “Siddharth and Shah Rukh Khan formed a great bond through the Pathaan shoot and are all ready to expand that further with King. Siddharth has proved himself to be the best in action at the moment and he will be overseeing all the action blocks in the King. In fact, Sid and his team will be actively involved in designing the action too.” Sujoy has also started the pre-production work of the movie and has given his final touches to the script of King. The source furthermore said, “The flavor of action in King will be very different from what SRK has done in Pathaan and Jawan. This one would be sleek with a lot of chase sequences. However, the core plot is emotional and driven by the story. It has lots of twists and turns, which is the reason why Sujoy has been bestowed with the responsibility of direction.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, SRK is gearing up for his movie Dunki which will be released next month. Suhana will also be making her acting debut with the Netflix film The Archies. The movie has been helmed by Zoya Akhtar.
