Shah Rukh Khan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu collaborating for Rajkumar Hirani’s next? Here’s the truth

Rumours of Shah Rukh Khan joining hands with Samantha Ruth Prabhu for Rajkumar Hirani’s action-adventure film have flooded social media. But now, journalist Rahul Raut has claimed that the news of Shah Rukh and Samantha collaborating is bogus and Rajkumar Hirani has not finalised his next project yet.

Shah Rukh Khan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu joining hands?

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Rahul Raut wrote, “Shah Rukh Khan - Samantha Ruth Prabhu - Rajkumar Hirani? — NOT TRUE AT ALL!  #RajkumarHirani is in a retrospective mood after #Dunki's underperformance and hasn't finalized his next yet!”

Rahul posted this tweet referring to the news about Shah Rukh collaborating with Samantha for Rajkumar Hirani’s next directorial venture.

Netizens react to Dunki’s ‘underperformance’ claim

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki collected Rs 500 crore at the box office but did not earn critical acclaim. Speaking about the ‘Dunki underperformed’ statement, one user wrote, “How the hell was Dunki underperformed?”. Another user wrote, “Under Performance? 480 Cr in drama Gener In Clash Worldwide. Highest Grossing Drama Movie after Covid. Overtaken big movies like Tiger3, Fighter. #Dunki was Blockbuster Movie.”

Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki. Released in 2023, Dunki also starred Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani, among others. Set in the rural areas of Punjab, the film deals with the issue of Dunki where people enter foreign countries illegally, risking their lives and finances in hopes of a better future not knowing that they live a life of misery and as illegal immigrants in that country.

SRK’s next projects

If reports are to be believed, Shah Rukh will have a cameo in Yash's next film Toxic. The actor also has King in the pipeline which will also star Suhana Khan.

On the other hand, Samantha was last seen in the 2023 film Kushi alongside Vijay Deverakonda. The actress took a long break from acting after her myositis diagnosis. She will next be seen in Citadel: Honey Bunny opposite Varun Dhawan.

Rajkumar Hirani has directed cult classic films such as PK, Sanju, 3 Idiots, and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., among others.
