Fans of Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta are in for a treat as their 2004 romantic drama film Veer-Zaara is all set to re-release in theatres internationally soon. Marking the 20th anniversary of the film, the makers of Veer Zaara are re-releasing the film internationally on 600 screens on November 7.
Veer-Zaara re-release
The makers of Veer-Zaara, Yash Raj Films, will re-release their highly successful film, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta, in 600 screens, marking its 20th anniversary.
The re-release will mark the first time premiere of the film in Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar.
The film is reported to re-release in countries such as USA, Canada, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Singapore, Malaysia and South Africa.
Adding to the excitement, it is reported that the print of the re-release will include the deleted song ‘Yeh hum aa gaye hai kahaan.’ It will be the first time that the song will be a part of the film.
Veer-Zaara: The cult classic
Directed by Yash Chopra, Veer-Zaara, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji, is one of the cult classic films in Bollywood that is still popular among the younger generations. Not just with the Indian population, the film has left an impact on audiences all over the world.
Speaking about the impact on Veer-Zaara, Nelson D’Souza, Vice President, International Distribution, said that the film has a cult following across the globe and on the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the makers wanted the audience to revisit the iconic love story the world over.
“As we entered the 20th year of this unanimously loved film, we could sense that the fans wanted to see this love story worldwide. From the chatter on social media, to fan requests to our offices globally, we could sense that people were waiting for us and wanting us to take this decision. So, this move by YRF is our hat-tip to the fans of the film,” he added.
