After a long wait, it's finally here! Telugu actor Sai Durgha Tej (formerly Sai Dharam Tej) has announced his new film, SDT 18 (tentative title), to his fans. The actor took to his social media handles to share the announcement poster and wrote, “MY NEXT #SDT18. This one will be more than special. Need all your love & blessings.” The actor had taken a long gap after his last film, Bro, which was released in 2023.

Directed by Rohith KP, the upcoming film is being produced by K. Niranjan Reddy and Chaitanya Reddy of Primeshow Entertainment, who achieved a blockbuster with Hanu Man this year. The new announcement poster showcases a lone green tree in a desert surrounded by landmines, suggesting a story with universal appeal. The caption on the poster reads, ‘The land that is longing for his arrival. He will ascend from the depths,’ indicating that the film is set to be a fantasy magnum opus.
According to the filmmakers, Sai Durgha Tej will play a formidable figure in this high-octane period drama. The shooting of the film is currently ongoing and it is set to have a pan-India release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. The movie is billed as an action drama. Although the makers have not disclosed other details regarding the cast and crew, the upcoming movie is written and directed by Rohith KP. Sai Durgha Tej’s shelved project SDT 17
Earlier, it was reported that Telugu star Sai Durgha Tej and director Sampath Nandi were teaming up for an action film titled Gaanja Shankar. However, the film is rumored to have been shelved. The Telugu actor was expected to join forces with director Sampath Nandi for the much-anticipated mass entertainer, which was earlier tentatively titled SDT 17. The film, backed by S. Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments, had even released a creative poster announcing the project. However, according to the latest updates, the film has been shelved. Meanwhile, Sai Durgha Tej has signed a light-hearted film by the makers of Virupaksha, Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. However, the project is yet to begin.
