Satish Kaushik's prayer meet: Anupam Kher holds the late actor's daughter Vanshika close; Vidya Balan, Boney Kapoor, and others attend

A slew of celebrities arrived to pay their last tribute to the veteran actor-director at his prayer meet which was held on Monday in Mumbai. Anupam Kher , who has been a close friend of Satish, arrived with the late actor’s family. In the video that surfaced online, he could be seen holding Satish’s daughter Vanshika’s hand. Vidya Balan, Javed Akhtar , Boney Kapoor, Vivek Agnihotri, David Dhawan, Gulshan Grover, Mousami Chatterjee, Jackie Shroff, and Maniesh Paul among others also arrived to pay their last respect.

The legendary actor left for his heavenly abode on March 9 after suffering a heart attack. Just a couple of days before he attended the Holi party at Javed Akhtar’s house on March 7. The following day, he flew to Delhi to celebrate Holi at his businessman friend Vikas Malu’s farmhouse. After the party, he complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital immediately with his manager Santosh Rai. In an interview with Etimes, his manager revealed his last words, “ He put his head on my shoulder and said ‘Santosh, main marna nahin chahta, mujhe bacha lo'” (I don’t want to die, please save me), ‘Mujhe Vanshika ke liye jeena hai. Shashi aur Vanshika ka khayyal rakhna,’” he had shared.

Days after Satish’s death, allegations of Vikas Malu's involvement surfaced after which Delhi police initiated an investigation. Vikas’s second wife had alleged that her husband was responsible for the actor's death. She said that there was an ongoing monetary dispute between her husband and the late actor. Later, Satish’s wife rubbished the allegations saying that Vikas was so rich that he wouldn’t have taken money from her husband. However, the police said that the detailed post-mortem report confirmed that the death was natural and there is no foul play. It was also revealed that the actor had a history of hypertension and sugar, due to which he suffered cardiac arrest.
