Saripodhaa Sanivaaram star Nani talks about his admiration for Kamal Haasan, says ‘This kind of legacy is...’

Ahead of the major release of his film Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, Telugu actor Nani recently opened up about his admiration for Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, calling him the greatest 'gift to cinema.' 

During a promotional event, Nani spoke at length about the Tamil superstar’s contributions to cinema. The Saripodhaa Sanivaaram actor expressed that Kamal Haasan has given back to cinema as much as cinema has given to audiences and actors. “I think cinema has given a lot to actors and audiences. And if anyone has given anything back to cinema, it's Kamal Haasan. I think Kamal Haasan sir is a gift to cinema,” Nani said.  

He added that the legacy and hype surrounding the Indian 2 actor is unbreakable. Nani remarked, “He has dedicated his life to cinema and has explored many different avenues. He started at 5 years old, and today, he remains a leading man with so much hype around him. Huge films are riding on him. I believe this kind of legacy is unbreakable.” 

Nani also shared his thoughts on the actors from Kamal’s generation, noting that they have witnessed the evolution of cinema in ways that the new generation of actors hasn't. "He started his career as a child artist and has experienced everything from the first transition to digital cameras and much more. Kamal Haasan’s contribution is unmatchable," Nani emphasized.

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram - Nani’s upcoming film

Written and directed by Vivek Athreya, the film features Nani, Priyanka Mohan, and SJ Suryah in the lead roles. The movie also includes Aditi Balan, Abhirami, Murali Sharma, Sai Kumar, Ajay Ghosh, and Harshavardhan in supporting roles. On the technical front, Jakes Bejoy has composed the background score and soundtracks, Murali G handles the cinematography, and Karthika Srinivas is in charge of editing. 

The movie revolves around Surya, portrayed by Nani, who protects the people of Shokulapalam from the cruelty of CI Daya, played by SJ Suryah, who plays the main antagonist. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is scheduled for a worldwide release on August 29, 2024.
