Saripodhaa Sanivaaram: Meet Chayadevi, aka Abhirami, from Nani's film

Happy birthday, Abhirami! On the occasion of the actress' birthday, the makers of Nani’s upcoming Telugu action drama Saripodhaa Sanivaaram released a new character poster today. Introducing her as ‘Chayadevi’, the makers shared her poster and wrote, “Wishing our loving and gentle Chayadevi, aka @abhiramiact garu, a very Happy Birthday! Her heartwarming presence will be something you'll truly cherish.”

The new poster features the actress in a red and peach saree and it looks like she is waiting for someone to arrive. Although the makers have not revealed much about her character, the actress is set to essay the role of Nani's mother in the film.

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram's 'Not A Teaser'

Earlier, the makers unveiled a glimpse, aka ‘Not A Teaser,’ on the occasion of SJ Suryah’s birthday. The glimpse hints at the massive storm that awaits. In the teaser, Nani is seen comparing the film’s story to Lord Sri Krishna, who teamed up with Satyabhama to defeat Narakasura. The teaser then showcases Nani and Priyanka Arul Mohan preparing to bring down the antagonist, SJ Suryah. SJ Suryah looks menacing as a cop in the film.

The teaser received overwhelming responses, with fans praising composer Jakes Bejoy for his banger of a background score.

Written and directed by Vivek, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram revolves around Surya, played by Nani, who transforms into a vigilante superhero to combat injustice. The film centres on a man who only unleashes his anger on Saturdays. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is the second collaboration between Nani and Vivek. They previously worked together on the romantic drama Ante Sundaraniki.

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram OTT rights

As announced earlier, Netflix has acquired the OTT rights to Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. The film will be available for streaming on the platform after its theatrical release. It will be released in Telugu, along with dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, all with the title Surya's Saturday.
