According to Navi Mumbai Police’s chargesheet, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi paid Rs 25 lakhs to assailants to kill actor Salman Khan.

In April this year, Lawrence Bishnoi's gang members opened fire outside Salman Khan's residence in Bandra. Recently, his gang members allegedly murdered Salman's close friend and politician Baba Siddique. The security around the superstar is heightened and every movement is being tracked. Now, the new development suggests that the gangster, who is currently in jail, had planned to kill Salman near his Panvel farmhouse. While uncovering the truth behind the gun-firing incident outside the actor’s house, the Navi Mumbai Police found that Lawrence paid Rs 25 lakhs to assassins to kill Salman.

NDTV reported that five individuals were given the contract by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to kill Salman. The chargesheet reveals that the accused were preparing to buy weapons AK 47, AK 92, and M 16 from Pakistan and the Turkish-made Zigana weapon, with which Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was also killed. The five assassins are below the age of 18 and are hiding in Pune, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Gujarat.
It is also stated that the assailants were waiting for approval from Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi's brother Anmol Bishnoi.
Further details about the conspiracy
The report adds that more than 60 people had been tracking Salman Khan's movement, surrounding his Bandra house, Panvel farmhouse, and Goregaon Film City. Reportedly, the plan to kill the actor was formulated between August 2023 and April 2024.
The chargesheet further suggests that the accused decided to get hold of advanced weapons after doing a recce surrounding Salman’s house which included tight security and use of bulletproof vehicles.
The report stated that gangster Sukka had assigned Ajay Kashyap for the assassination. Sukka reached out to Pakistan-based arms dealer Dogar via video call, during which he displayed an AK-47 and other firearms wrapped in a shawl while negotiating the deal.
The chargesheet adds that the plan included the assailants regrouping in Kanyakumari after completing their task after which they would escape to Sri Lanka by boat and then move to different countries, beyond the reach of Indian investigative agencies.
The masterplan was uncovered while the police were investigating the incident of gun firing outside Salman’s house in Mumbai this year.
