Saif Ali Khan reacts to his viral old interview; says he proud of his 'unpretentious' responses, claims he was on medication
Saif Ali Khan's old interview with Doordarshan went viral last year, the actor has now reacted to it.
Saif Ali Khan has reacted to his old interview on the show ‘Subha Savere’ which went viral last year. Saif’s honest replies on the show made an entertaining comeback on social media where he candidly spoke about his favourite things and first named Faiz and Galib as his favourite poets and then quickly rubbished the answer to admit he’s never read them.
The actor who seems lost in his own mind in the interview has now reacted to the viral video and said that at times during his interviews he’s not ‘completely mentally all there’. He also claimed that he was on medication at the time and added that’s he’s proud of the old interview.
Talking to Zoom recently about the video going viral Saif said, "I think I'm on medication in that, let's call it medication. I look like I'm on medication but I've done so many interviews that I think I've been medicated on some of them. I've not been completely mentally all there sometimes. At a certain age, you should be unpretentious and simple which I see in young Ibrahim (his son Ibrahim Ali Khan ) also and I think that's nice. But to have the same attitude at a later age in life is not necessarily correct."
The Bhoot Police actor added, "So I'm very proud of that interview because that's who I was. It's unpretentious. I think I've been down to earth and quite a chill person...Now I'm much more pretentious because there's an age for it. You certainly can't be honest all the time to all the people, it would be very foolish. It doesn't work, I've seen people try and do it, nobody really appreciates it, beyond a point. You might get in trouble as well."
Saif candid replies in the old interview garnered a massive response from the audience on social media where many appreciated his honesty while to others, he seemed spaced out.
However, this isn’t the only Saif interview to have made headlines. The actor’s candid responses have often landed him in trouble. In recent years, the actor’s comments like there was “no concept of India till the British came along" or his comments on playing Ravan in Om Raut’s Adipurush have ignited massive backlash.
