Rupali Ganguly’s stepdaughter Esha Verma made headlines when she accused the Anupamaa actress of having an affair with her father Ashwin Verma when he was married to her mother. After the post, the actress hit Esha with a defamation notice, demanding Rs 50 crore in compensation. After receiving the legal notice, Esha deleted her posts about the actress and made her social media account private. Now, Esha has come forward and opened up about why she deleted posts about Rupali, saying that she wants to protect her peace and focus on the present.

Taking to Instagram stories, Esha spoke about why she decided to talk against Rupali and the liberation she experienced after years of silence. Esha began the note by saying that speaking against her family was the toughest decision she has ever made but it also became a turning point in her life. She added that the posts brought clarity, peace, and liberation from years of silence.
Speaking about the kind of impact her statements would make, Esha said that she was mindful of how this would affect not just her but also her loved ones and that she handled it with the utmost care.
Esha added that her intention was never to cause harm but to shed light on experiences that shaped her. She stated that through the process she wanted to give a voice to others who might be facing similar struggles in their family dynamics.
Talking about why she deleted the posts after receiving the defamation notice, Esha stated that she chose to archive it after 48 hours and deactivate certain platforms. She added that the decision was not out of fear, rather she wanted to protect her peace and focus on the present.

Addressing the defamation notice that Rupali sent to Esha, she retorted that a child should not be punished for speaking their truth. She added, “Despite being a young adult, I am still my father's child. Their response to my statement was disturbing. cruel, and displayed their true character. I was not just a random individual speaking out but someone who was directly affected as a member of their family; I have no professional connection to Bollywood or the Indian entertainment industry, nor have attended or participated in auditions or professional photoshoots in India.”
Shedding more light on her present life, Esha stated that she has grown from that experience and wants to encourage everyone to embrace their unique features and celebrate the traits passed down through generations.
In her statement, Esha also added that she never involved any minor (referencing her stepbrother) but only shared a fact that she learned of a marriage that took place on February 6, 2013, and discovered on August 25th of the same year that they had a child.
In conclusion, Esha stated that she made this post to clarify any misconceptions about her previous posts and not to instigate further back and forth on this matter. Esha added that she will not be participating in any interviews, further discussions or commentary about this situation moving forward.
