A video of Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon being surrounded by a mob has gone viral on the internet. The actress was accused of abusing and assaulting three people in Mumbai. In the video, the actress is seen surrounded by the mob while one woman is heard accusing the actress’ driver of hitting her.
Viral video of Raveena Tandon gheraoed by mob
According to the video posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), Raveena’s driver was accused of rash driving and hitting three people at Carter Road near Rizvi College in Bandra. When the driver was confronted for his action, the actress got out of the car in a drunken state, and allegedly abused and assaulted the victims.
The caption read, “Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon’s driver is accused of rash driving and hitting three women at Bandra’s Carter Road last night. The actress was gheraoed by people at the incident spot. Injured's family allege that the actress got off the vehicle and hit the ladies.”
In the video, the actress is seen surrounded by many people, and one woman is heard saying, “Why did your driver run? He assaulted me. My nose is bleeding. Bring your driver in front of us.”
The actress is also seen asking people not to record her and is heard saying, “Don't push. Please don't hit me.”
Injured women's relative seeks justice
Later in the video, a man close to the family, who identified himself as Mohammad, said that his mother, sister and niece were passing by Rizvi College when Raveena’s car driver hit them. “When they confronted, the driver assaulted my niece and even my mother. Later, Raveena too stepped out in an inebriated state and hit my mother so much that she suffered serious head injuries," he said.
Seeking justice, the man also revealed that they had been waiting at the Khar police station for four hours and had been asked to settle the issue outside the police station. He said, “They asked us to get it settled out of the police station. But why should we settle with them? My mother has been assaulted and I demand justice.”
The actress has not issued any official statement on the matter.
