Raveena Tandon expresses gratitude for being honoured with Padma Shri, says 'I owe this to my father'
Besides being honoured with Padma Shri, Raveena has also been chosen as a delegate at the prestigious W20.

Every year on Republic Day, the nation honours its citizens with Padma Award for their exceptional and distinguished service in any field. Today on January 26, the list of this year’s awardees has been declared. Among others, Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon will be awarded with a Padma Shri this year. The actress has expressed her gratitude and dedicated her award to her late father Ravi Tandon.
Talking about achieving the feat of this high order, Raveena said, “Honoured and grateful. Thank you so much, Government of India, for acknowledging my contributions, my life, my passion, and my purpose - cinema and the arts, that allowed me to contribute, not only to the film industry, but also beyond. She further added, “I thank all those who guided me through this journey of Art and Craft of Cinema - all those who held my hand through it, and all those who watched me from their place above. I owe this to my father - Ravi Tandon," she told Etimes.

Raveena started off her career in 1991 with Patthar Ke Phool and bagged the Filmfare Award for New Face of the Year. Since then there has been no looking back for the actress as she became part of several notable films including Mohra, Dilwale, Andaz Apna Apna, Shool, Dulhe Raja, and many more. She won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her powerful acting in the 2001 social drama Daman. She was last seen in the Netflix series Aranyak and also garnered praises for her stellar act in KGF Chapter 2.
On the personal front, the actress adopted 2 girls and became a single mother at the age of 21. She got married to Anil Thadani in 2004 and became parents to two children – Rasha and Ranbirvardhan. Recently, she has been chosen as a delegate at the prestigious W20, the Women's Empowerment engagement wing at G20 India's Presidency.
