Ranveer Singh will be essaying Shaktimaan in a trilogy superhero flick, to begin shooting for Don 3 by THIS time

Ranveer Singh fans, good news awaits you! The actor has his hands full with some exciting projects. The latest developments reveal that he has been roped in to play the iconic character of Shaktimaan who is touted to be one of India’s OG popular superheroes. The ambitious superhero film is touted to be a trilogy.

Talking about the same, according to a news report in Peepingmoon, Ranveer will be stepping into the shoes of veteran actor Mukesh Khanna who had essayed the character in the cult famous TV show which aired in DD National between 1997 and 2005. He will be playing both Shaktimaan and his alter ego Pandit Gangadhar. The report further added that the project will be helmed by Basil Joseph who had previously directed the hit Malayalam superhero film Minnal Murali. The scripting is scheduled to be over by the end of 2024 after which the film will be entering the pre-production phase. The shooting is expected to begin from the second part of 2025.

Meanwhile, talking about his another ambitious project Don 3, Ranveer is expected to begin shooting for the same from August or September of 2024. A source close to the development revealed Pinkvilla, “Ranveer will undergo workshops to get into the part of Don. He considers this film as a big responsibility as he will be the third generation of Don after Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Farhan is targeting to take Don 3 on floors from August/September 2024.”

On the work front, Ranveer will also reprise his role as Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. He is said to have an extended cameo in the movie and will have a prominent role in the film. He will reportedly shoot for Rohit Shetty’s actioner till the end of April. The movie has a striking addition to the star cast with names like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor.
