Randeep Hooda unveils the release date of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, netizens get 'goosebumps' from new motion poster

On the occasion of Martyr’s Day today (January 30), Randeep Hooda unveiled the release date of his film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. The film also marks the directorial debut of the actor. The movie will revolve around the life of the late freedom fighter, social reformer, and politician.

Talking about the same, the motion poster sees a sketch of Mahatma Gandhi being transformed into the picture of Veer Savarkar. A catchy Marathi rap song plays in the background. We can see the words terrorist, traitor, and hero being etched in the background since his image and actions had polarizing views amongst the people. At the end of the video, Randeep as Savarkar says, “Mujhe Gandhi Se Nahi, Ahimsa Se Nafrat Hain.’ Hooda captioned the same stating, “Two heroes of Indian Independence Struggle; One celebrated and One removed from History. On #MartyrsDay 2024 - HISTORY WILL BE REWRITTEN. #SwatantryaVeerSavarkar IN CINEMAS ON 22nd March 2024.” Take a look at the same.

Randeep’s wife Lin Laishram commented on the same stating, “Can’t wait for 22nd March. Congratulations team Sarvarkar.” The netizens also expressed their excitement for the movie. One of them stated, “Besabri se intazar hai is movie ka.” A user said, “Goosebumps. A film by Randeep Hooda.” A netizen added, “Sir if you go to admans port Blair & see , how much veer savarkar ji is celebrated as National Hero there.” A user went on to say, “Entry achi hai ; Date announce karneka tarika aur timing bda kezual hai.” A netizen said, “Long live truth! Long live people who bring it to the fore!! That's you, Randeep.” A user furthermore added, “Ek no sir ji your dedication.”

For the unversed, the film also stars former Bigg Boss 17 finalist Ankita Lokhande. This will mark her first big project after her stint on the reality show. She reportedly plays the role of Veer Savarkar’s wife.
