A couple of weeks back, there was Alia Bhatt who was subjected to many trolls surrounding Alia Bhatt, which ‘claimed’ that she had undergone an unsuccessful Botox treatment. Not the one to take it silently, Alia Bhatt reacted strongly with a post on social media.

This time round, it was Riddhima Kapoor Sahni who, in an interview with News 18, spoke about the constant trolling and judgment that is being faced by her family. She specifically spoke about the trolls that were targeting her brother Ranbir Kapoor and also her sister-in-law Alia Bhatt (while referring to the rumours about the ‘unsuccessful Botox treatment’).

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who has been garnering rave reviews for her show Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, in the said interview, said, “There are judgments everywhere. People always find something to say. People assume it’s all about privilege, but they don’t see what we go through. I am proud and secure in my life. I have a beautiful family, a supportive husband, a lovely daughter, a brother, a sister-in-law. And I’m not apologetic for that”.

While addressing the topic of privilege, she said that privilege to her, was having a family that loves you and also being content with what one has. She added that, (while citing the famous lines from the Hindi song- Logon ka kaam hai bolna, bolenge), she did not really care about what people have to say about that and that the people would always find a reason to talk and also judge because it’s easy to criticise. She added that, when one makes a mistake, ten people jump on that person immediately, but they rarely applaud when the person does something good.

In the same interview, while addressing about how the online culture has become ill and something that feeds on negativity, Riddhima said, “We’re surrounded by so much negativity these days; it’s like a cycle. The smallest slip-up, and they’re ready to pounce. We need to change that culture. Absolutely no judgement towards anyone who chooses cosmetic corrections or surgery – your body, your choice. But wow, this is beyond ridiculous!

She also added that, “What was worse, you’re influencing young, impressionable minds who might actually believe this garbage”.
