Ranbir Kapoor reveals the first song he made his daughter Raha listen and it is not what you think

Almost all the who’s who of Bollywood are right now present in IFFI (International Film Festival of India, which is in its 55th edition), one of the most celebrated film festivals of our nation. Amid the many celeb chit-chats, there was one celebrity chat which really took the festival by storm. And the celebrity happens to be none other than the ever-suave Ranbir Kapoor, who was in conversation with Rahul Rawail.

During the interesting conversation that he was having with the filmmaker Rahul Rawail, Ranbir Kapoor revealed that the first ever Raj Kapoor song that he made his two-year-old daughter Raha listen to was the evergreen track ‘Kisi Ki Muskurahaton Pe Ho Nisaar’. The said track happens to be from the film Anari, which was released in the year 1959. For the unversed, the film starred the late actors Raj Kapoor, Nutan, Motilal and Lalita Pawar.

During the same conversation, Ranbir Kapoor also made a revelation of sorts by announcing that, “We are going to organise the Raj Kapoor Film Festival from December 13-December 15 all over India. We will show the restored version of 10 films of Raj Kapoor's films”.

As a step in that direction, the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), National Film Archives of India and also the Film Heritage Foundation, along with Ranbir Kapoor’s uncle Kunal Kapoor have all, together started restoring 10 films of the (late) evergreen Raj Kapoor, who is best known as the ‘original showman’ of Bollywood. For the unversed, December 14 happens to be the 100th birth anniversary of the late Raj Kapoor.

In the same breath, Ranbir Kapoor told an entire jam-packed audience, “I hope you guys come as well. I remember the first time I met Alia, she asked me ‘Who's Kishore Kumar?’. It's just a circle of life, people are forgotten. It's important we remember our roots”.

When the topic drifted to making a biopic on the life of the illustrious Raj Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor said, “I talk to a lot of people, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali, about how to make a biopic on Mr Raj Kapoor. A biopic is not just something which highlights the success in a person's life, you truly have to portray someone's life honestly, the lows, struggles, relationship dynamics”.

He also added, “It's a very tough biopic to make. I don't know if my family would also agree for most of the things, to show this side of Raj Kapoor. But I think it would really make a great movie”.

In the same conversation, Ranbir Kapoor also touched upon his sentiments of working again with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. For the unversed, Ranbir Kapoor is working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the film Love And War, which also stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.

On his part, Ranbir Kapoor said, “I'm excited to work with Mr Bhansali again. Even after 17 years, it still feels the same. I respect him so much; he hasn't changed at all. All he thinks about is his movies”.
