The two powerhouses Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan will reportedly be teaming up for ace filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari ’s Ramayana . While Ranbir will be playing Lord Ram, Hrithik as Raavan will take the representation of the mythological epic to another level. The official announcement of the same will be made in October as per reports.
According to the sources, the film is likely to go on floors in m0d 2023 and the actors have blocked their calendars for the same. "Ramayana is among the biggest Indian films of all time and the makers have pulled off a casting coup by signing two of the biggest millennial stars - Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor. Both the actors have agreed in principle to be a part of this film and have tentatively blocked their calendars from the mid-next year for Ramayana," the source told Bollywood Hungama .

Meanwhile, Ranbir is awaiting the release of his upcoming period-action, Shamshera. Set in 1800, the film follows a dacoit tribe and their fight for independence against British rule. Directed by Karan Malhotra , the film will see Ranbir in a dual role, with Sanjay Dutt as an antagonist and Vaani Kapor as travelling performer. Produced by Aditya Chopra under his banner Yash Raj Films , Shamshera is scheduled to release on July 22.
On the other hand, Hrithik is gearing up for his upcoming crime drama, Vikram Vedha alongside Saif Ali Khan . The film is the Hindi remake of the 2017 Tamil film of the same name. Directed by Pushkar-Gayathri, the film is set to hit screens on September 30.
