Rana Daggubati is quite upbeat about his upcoming movie Vettaiyan, which is special because he will be sharing screen space with Superstar Rajinikanth for the first time. Expressing his excitement, Rana described the character as uniquely suited to his personality.

"I felt this character was tailor-made for me because... if there were an evil side to my personality at the work I do at the office, it would look like this character," Rana remarked. "The good me will be roaming around here in Hyderabad, and you will see the evil me in the movie."

Despite the complexity of his role, Rana refused to categorize it as "negative." "My character fights to protect capitalism," he clarified, highlighting the nuanced layers he brings to the screen.

For Rana, taking on this character is a deliberate choice to explore new horizons in his career. "I never felt like doing a rom-com because there are already so many people doing it. If I play a character, I want it to be something new and unique," he explained.

Discussing his collaboration with director TJ Gnanavel, whose previous film Jai Bhim he admired, Rana praised the director's integrity. "When I met him, I felt that he was an honest human being. He didn’t plan to cast actors from across the industry to expand the movie’s market. His mind doesn’t function like that. He purely casts actors based on their skills. He wrote the characters and found the actors that he needs."

Vettaiyan, written and directed by TJ Gnanavel, is slated to release in cinemas on October 10. The film revolves around the subject of a police encounter. Rajinikanth plays the titular role of a celebrated cop, renowned for his legendary encounter operations. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan, among others.
