    Bollywood star Ranveer Singh has been making headlines ever since rumours surrounding his rift with director Prasanth Varma surfaced online. It was speculated that the actor opted out of Rakshas after one day of shooting, though no official statement was made by the duo. Clearing the air around those rumours, the makers of the film have now released an official statement, stating that it is not the right time for the project.

    The makers of the film, Mythri Movie Makers, released an official statement, stating that it is ‘not the ideal time for this project’.

    “Both the parties including Mythri Movie Makers agree that everyone’s intentions were right to make it happen but something’s sometimes aren’t meant to be at that time,” reads the official statement.

    Ranveer Singh and Prasanth Varma officially part ways

    Talking about the project and the director, actor Ranveer Singh said, “Prasanth is a very special talent. We met and explored the idea of a film together. Hopefully, we will collaborate on something exciting in the future.” On the other hand, Prasanth said that Ranveer’s energy and talent are rare to find and hopes that the duo will surely manifest their forces for a project sooner in the future.

    Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, Rakshas was supposed to be directed by Prasanth Varma and feature Ranveer Singh. Prasanth Varma is the director of the blockbuster pan-India film HanuMan. According to reports, the story of Rakshas was set in the pre-Independence era with a mythological backdrop.

    Prasanth Varma on ‘rift’ with Ranveer Singh

    Speaking about the rumoured rift, Prasanth Varma in a recent interview said that Ranveer has his own style, and he came to the office with a whole caravan. But the way of working in the South is different where everyone works as a team. “No one ever tries to impose any kind of authority on anyone,” Prashanth told Amar Ujala.

    Reacting to the rumours that were grabbing attention online, the director said, “The talk of me taking three-four days to shoot for half an hour is unfounded. We completed his look test efficiently. I’m not sure where these rumours originated, and I prefer not to dwell on them.”
