Tamil superstar Rajinikanth seemed to be overjoyed after receiving the coveted UAE golden visa at an event in Dubai on Thursday. He thanked the local government and his friends for helping him receive this honour.
"Today, I am honoured to receive the prestigious golden visa of the UAE. My heartfelt thanks to the UAE government and my good friend, Lulu Group chairman and managing director, Yusuf Ali saab. Without him, this wouldn't have happened," he added.
Rajinikanth has been travelling in Abu Dhabi for the past several days. He flew to Dubai last week without making any announcement about the reason for his visit. Videos of Rajinikanth taking a jolly ride in a car and visiting a Hindu temple suggest that he is making the most out of his trip to Dubai.
It seems Rajinikanth wanted to take a small break after continuously shooting for his upcoming movie Vettaiyan for more than 100 days. He took off for Dubai soon after he wrapped up his portions for the movie.
Vettaiyan is one of the most-awaited movies of 2024. Written and directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film is touted to be a cop drama. However, this is expected to be very different from a typical Rajinikanth starrer.
Earlier, talking about Vettaiyan, actor Rana Daggubati remarked, "Vettaiyan is not like a usual Rajinikanth film. It's amazing that he is doing a film like that." Rana Daggubati has also played a key supporting role in the movie.
The film also boasts an all-star supporting cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan.
After returning to India, Rajinikanth will join the sets of Lokesh Kanagaraj's next movie. Titled Coolie, the film will go on the floors in June.
