‘Rajinikanth called me the next Vijayashanti’: Vettaiyan's Dussehra Vijayan recalls her first meeting with superstar
Ahead of the most anticipated release of the Rajinikanth-starrer Vettiayan, actress Dushara Vijayan shares her experience of working alongside the Tamil superstar in his upcoming cop drama.

Post the success of Raayan, Tamil actress Dushara Vijayan has been riding high, with several exciting projects in the pipeline. However, her next film, Vettaiyan, opposite superstar Rajinikanth, is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films that Kollywood fans are eager to watch on the big screen.
Ahead of its much-anticipated release, actress Dushara Vijayan opened up about meeting Rajinikanth for the first time and her experience working alongside him.
Dushara Vijayan talks about working with Rajinikanth
During the promotions, the actress revealed that when director TJ Gnanavel introduced her to Rajinikanth on the film's set, he immediately acknowledged her previous works and praised her performance in her earlier film Sarpatta Parambarai. She said, “When we first met, he was like, ‘Oh, your performance in Sarpatta was amazing.’ Then, director TJ Gnanavel informed him about me falling sick, and Rajini sir said, ‘Oh, are you nervous, or is it out of respect?’ and then the way he hugged me... it was all surreal.”
She continued, “He watched Raayan and appreciated me, calling me the next Vijayashanti. I will never forget these moments and will cherish them forever. I think Raayan was the answer to my dreams, while Vettaiyan is an answer I never dreamed of.”
She also added, "Vetrikodi Kattu from Rajini sir's Padayappa is my go-to motivational song. Hence, getting an opportunity to work alongside the man himself is something I am truly grateful for."
Dushara Vijayan is all set to play the role of Saranya, a school teacher, in the upcoming cop drama. The actress, who mesmerized audiences with her performance in Raayan, Dhanush’s directorial, is poised to take center stage again and enthrall audiences in this Rajinikanth-starrer.
On the work front, Dushara will next be seen in Vettaiyan and Vikram’s upcoming film Veera Dheera Sooran.
