Superstar Rajinikanth seems to be having the best time soaking in the holiday spirit as he continues his week-long spiritual retreat in the Himalayan region. A photo of him basking in the sunlight against the backdrop of scenic mountains will give you serious holiday blues.
Rajinikanth's trip to the Himalayan region is an annual affair. It's a sort of detox process for the superstar. During these trips, he seemingly tries to detach from his stardom and ground himself by visiting spiritual centres in Kedarnath and Rishikesh. He also meditates in Babaji Cave.
However, Rajinikanth had put these trips on hold for more than four years due to health reasons. A few years ago, he was diagnosed with serious kidney disease, requiring extensive treatments in various parts of the country. Rajinikanth regained his health after undergoing a kidney transplant in a hospital in the US. After a long recovery period, he resumed his Himalayan trips last year.
Before going on this trip, Rajinikanth had also taken a small trip to Dubai. He went there to attend a cultural event organized by the local government. He was also honoured with the UAE's golden visa.
Once he returns to Chennai from the spiritual retreat, Rajinikanth will join the sets of director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie. Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, the film is expected to go on the floors in the first week of June.
Lokesh is currently in pre-production and in the last leg of completing the screenplay, which he is penning with a team of writers.
Billed as an action drama, the teaser for Coolie has created a lot of anticipation.
In the meantime, Rajinikanth's cop drama Vettaiyan is also set to hit the screens in October.
