Pushpa 2: Toxic substance sprayed during the film’s screening at Gaiety Galaxy theatre; investigations are on

The Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2 was definitely one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year. Just before its release, the expectations and the curiosity amongst the cinegoers was definitely at its peak. It looked as if the very moment the film gets released, the impatient audiences will simply lap it up!

And lap it up they did! The theatres screening the Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2 have been running to packed houses. Amid all this, there was an unfortunate incident that had taken place in Gaiety Galaxy theatre in Mumbai. As per the reports available, an unknown miscreant had sprayed a toxic substance during the film’s screening at the Gaiety Galaxy theatre, that’s located in Bandra area of Mumbai.

Within minutes of the alleged toxic substance being sprayed, the cinegoers who were present during the film’s screening started feeling uneasy. Unable to breathe properly, they then started holding and covering their faces with handkerchiefs and also masks. In no time, the film theatre became entirely chaotic. There were also reports of the audience vomiting.

As a result of all this, the management of the aforementioned theatre used their presence of mind and immediately halted the film’s screening for almost 15- 20 minutes. Around that time, even the police station had been alerted to this unfortunate incident. The Mumbai Police, after receiving the information about the said incident, reached the theatre in the nick of time. As per reports, the investigations are going on regarding the incident to find out the culprit.

Besides this, there was yet another incident that was reported in Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre, RTC Crossroad. During one of the shows, there was the film’s leading man Allu Arjun who was present. Needless to say, the film theatre had turned totally uncontrollable and chaotic. As a result of all this, it resulted in the unfortunate death of a 39-year-old woman named M Revathi, who had attended the film’s premiere of Pushpa 2 along with her husband M Bhaskar, her son and her seven-year-old daughter.

After the unfortunate incident, the film’s makers Mythri Movie Makers, took to social media and posted, ‘We are extremely heartbroken by the tragic incident during last night’s screening. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the young child undergoing medical treatment. We are committed to standing by them and extending all possible support during this difficult time. With deep sorrow’.
