'Proud Proud Proud': Karan Johar reacts as Alia Bhatt becomes first Indian global brand ambassador for Gucci

Alia Bhatt has been named the first global brand ambassador for the Italian luxury fashion house Gucci. The news comes after Alia’s recent debut at the Met Gala in New York City. The actress has joined Dakota Johnson, Harry Styles, and Hanni of the K-pop group NewJeans, amongst others in the pools of Gucci’s global ambassadors. Taking to her Instagram handle, Alia penned a thank you note that read, “I’m honored to represent the house of Gucci not only in India but at a global stage. Gucci’s legacy has always inspired and intrigued me and I’m looking forward to the many sartorial milestones we create together.”

And soon after, filmmaker Karan Johar, who launched the actress in 2012 in Student Of The Year, dropped a comment that read, “Proud Proud Proud”. Anushka Sharma, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor among others also showered love on her post. Karan and Alia have once again collaborated for the family drama, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which also stars Ranveer Singh.

As per the report, Alia will make an appearance at Gucci’s upcoming Cruise 2024 showcase in Seoul, South Korea. Besides this, Alia recently addressed the nepotism topic in her recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar. "I completely understand where that conversation comes from. The only thing I can say is that I acknowledge the fact that I have gotten that head start. I acknowledge the fact that I do have that privilege, which is why I give 100 per cent every day and I never take my work for granted. The only thing I can do is keep my head down and keep working."

Meanwhile, Alia is all set to make her Hollywood debut with Heart of Stone alongside Gal Gadot.She is also gearing up for the shoot of Farhan Akhtar’s next Jee Le Zaraa co-starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Katrina Kaif.
