Paris Olympics 2024- Anil Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Emraan Hashmi, Taapsee Pannu and other celebs ecstatic after Indian hockey team's Olympic semis entry

Today was the day when everyone had pinned their hopes on the Indian hockey team as they were having a play-off match with Great Britain. One has to admit that, before the start of the match, no one knew as to which side the game would tilt to. But, as the game began, one could only hear cheers and cheers for the Indian hockey team.

And the high-spirited Indian hockey team did not disappoint the many fans, not even for a second. They not just impressed everyone with their sports, but also made India proud by beating Great Britain with a score of 4-2 in the penalty shootout. With this, the Indian team has made it to the mega prestigious Olympic semi-finals of the men's hockey.

In no time after India scored a thumping victory against Great Britain, there were many celebs who immediately took to social media and posted their congratulatory wishes for the winning team! There was the veteran actor cum Bigg Boss OTT 3 host Anil Kapoor who took to social media and wrote, ‘An edge-of-the-seat match that ends with a win for Team India!!! The semi-finals are going to be amazing! Congratulations on a well-deserved win!! Come on’.

There was Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, who also had taken to social media to congratulate the victorious Indian hockey team. The ‘Showtime’ actor posted, “Wow Congratulations team India!!’.

In a conversation with India Today, actress Taapsee Pannu said , ‘Hum jeet gaye (We won)’. She also spoke about the match by saying that the Indian team had got a red card in the first quarter and everyone had been thinking how India would pull through, but to be able to keep Britain in check... She felt like India had won. She then thanked God and said that Sreejesh was such a hero to be saving those goals and that she was so glad. She also added that she was returning to India tonight and that she would be going home so happy.
