Paani: Priyanka Chopra Jonas unveils the gripping first trailer of Marathi film

The global superstar Priyanka Chopra Jonas took to social media and shared the extremely heart touching trailer of the most awaited Marathi film Paani. She took to the captions and posted, ‘This is more than a story—it’s a fight for survival. #Paani’.

The trailer starts off with a voiceover that states that, every year, there are hundreds of people who go to Marathwada. But there are a few people who do not want to leave the village and that’s why they stayed back. These people need to be brought together and fight the issue of scarcity of water and drought which has engulfed the village.

Even though the names of the people who had left the village were not remembered, but, two people whose names really stand out in the entire village. This is followed by a clipping of Aamir Khan’s talk show Satyamev Jayate, wherein he is seen talking to a gentleman who tells him that the people of his village had to go as many as four kilometres in order to get water.

The same clipping also shows the very man’s revelation about his marriage proposal, wherein his now-wife had told him (before marriage) that she will marry him only, but only after the village gets water, something that even he had abided to!

The audiences are then taken to a blossoming love story between a young man and a woman, which is then followed by the villagers digging deep and deep inside the ground in an attempt to find water in their village!

The trailer then takes the audiences to an extremely dejected man because of his failed attempts in finding water. He is even stopped by his wife/ mother telling him to stop his efforts of finding water as there is no way to find water there (in their village). What happens after that is what one can see in the film Paani, when it gets released in theatres.
