It was announced some time ago that Alia Bhatt will be headlining a new film in YRF’s spy universe which will focus on the female spies of the universe. The development comes after the massive success of the previous films in the universe like the Tiger franchise, War and Pathaan. However, the news has now left the fans heavily divided.

While some fans are overjoyed and feel that Alia Bhatt will do full justice to the role as she has already delivered a successful spy film like Raazi, others feel that she is not suitable for the action genre. Not only this but many netizens also thought that her headlining the project is unfair to Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone who have already been badass leading ladies in the Tiger franchise and Pathaan respectively. According to a news report in India Today, Aditya Chopra plans to showcase Alia in a never-seen-before avatar in the movie.

A netizen took a dig at Alia Bhatt stating, “One more genre she will ruin, can't wait to see the results of her ultimate fight with a 13-year-old child as they run around a park in their cycles, cause anybody else is going to be too big of a threat for our queen.” Another user added, “Oh god please NO. I mean at least leave the action for Katrina and Deepika. Can we stop having Alia everywhere?? Jesus Christ, I can’t stand the sight of her.” However, one of Alia’s fans said, “People underestimating Alia Bhatt. They become casting directors when Gangubai came. Gangubhai becomes a super hit in theatre release and become a blockbuster on Netflix. It becomes one of the most-watched Indian films on Netflix. Definitely, Alia will justify as an action star. Waiting.”

However, it will be interesting to see whether the film will also have the presence of Deepika Padukone’s Rubina and Katrina Kaif’s Zoya. This is not the only ambitious project on Alia’s kitty now. The actress will also be seen playing Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan.
