Nushrratt Bharuccha reveals how she learnt about condoms; had asked her parents ‘kya bol rahe ho’

Actress Nushrratt Bharuccha is currently busy gearing up for the release of her next and much awaited film Janhit Mein Jaari . The comedy drama, which also stars Vijay Raaz and Tinnu Anand, follows the story of a woman who decides to take up the job of a condom sales executive in a small town after she is offered a hefty salary. Early reviews are in and while the film received mixed reviews, Nushrratt has been lauded for her performance and evolution as an actor.

Well, in a recent interview with Bollywood Life, the actress revealed how she first learnt about contraception. She was quoted saying, “I think I was lucky as in school they started teaching us this chapter about biology and sex education.” Nushrratt shared that she feels lucky her school first introduced her to what a condom is. But even at home her parents did speak to her about it. She revealed, “Of course, I couldn’t understand what they were saying, I was like ‘kya bol rahe ho?’”

Nushrratt explained that her parents did not spring the topic on her randomly one day. It was prolonged and they kept reiterating it which is how the message got stuck in her head. She still had questions about it but her parents tried to normalize the discussion as much as they could, which helped. Well, this is a topic which needs to be discussed openly but sadly it still makes many feel uncomfortable. But we are hoping Nushrratt’s film will help bring a difference.
