Vijay Sethupathi is the most sought-after actor, not just in the Tamil film industry but across Indian cinema. He has worked with almost all leading filmmakers in the country, won coveted awards, and features among the highest-paid actors. Despite his success, he remembers his roots and remains grateful for the humble victories he achieved during the early days of his career.

In a recent media interaction, Vijay Sethupathi recalled when he was the happiest while shooting for a movie. Surprisingly, it was not Petta, where he shared screen space with Superstar Rajinikanth, Vikram, where he acted with iconic Kamal Haasan, Master, in which he was locked in a fistfight with Thalapathy Vijay, or Jawan, starring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Vijay Sethupathi disclosed that his happiness peaked when he bagged his first film as a lead actor. After years of playing uncredited roles and supporting characters, Thenmerku Paruvakaatru (2010) marked his debut as a lead actor and helped him prove his naysayers wrong.

"I was most happy while shooting for Thenmerku Paruvakaatru. I didn't have a lot of comforts like a caravan while shooting that movie. Yet, I was the happiest while shooting for that film. That film gave me a sense of satisfaction that I didn't lose. I became an actor, and I didn't become a symbol of failure. People used to ask me what I knew about acting and why I was taking this risk after marriage and kids. Amid all the questions and doubts, I became an actor. I won. Those were the happiest 35 days of my career," revealed Vijay Sethupathi.

Vijay Sethupathi is now waiting for the release of Maharaja. Written and directed by Nithilan Saminathan, the film is due to arrive in cinemas on June 14. Billed as a revenge drama, the film has garnered positive reviews from critics.
