Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan is busy promoting his upcoming movie Indian 2. With just a few days left for the wide release, Kamal has stepped up efforts to boost the pre-release excitement surrounding the movie.

Kamal recently visited Ethiraj College for Women along with his co-actors of Indian 2 and discussed the movie with the students. He revealed, "If I have to be honest, the very reason I agreed to do part two of Indian is the part three of the franchise."

Kamal noted that as the lead star of the franchise, he's more thrilled to show his performance in Indian 3 to the audiences. "I am a big fan of part three. We still have six more months to release it, and I can't wait for its release in theatres," he added.

The trailer for Indian 2 was revealed earlier and received mixed reactions. Written and directed by Shankar, fans of the 1996 classic found it a little difficult to accept the latest iteration of their beloved character.

Kamal's Senapathy, aka Indian thatha, is one of the most iconic characters ever produced on Indian celluloid. However, since Shankar is bringing back the character to the big screen after 28 years, he has made some drastic creative choices to make it appealing to the current generation. Fans were able to see a glimpse of these changes and found it difficult to digest.

Yet, Indian 2 remains one of the most awaited movies of 2024. The film's production faced a number of issues that stalled the project for over two years. Indian 2 is finally set to arrive in cinemas worldwide on July 12. If everything goes according to plan, we can expect Indian 3 to release in theatres in January next year.
