National Film Awards: Dhanush congrats ‘his Shobana’ aka Nithya Menen - ‘A personal win’

    Overwhelmed by his Thiruchitrambalam co-star winning the Best Actress at the National Film Awards, actor Dhanush penned a sweet note for Nithya Menen.

    Nithya Menen won the Best Actress award at the 70th National Film Awards for her role as Shobana in the Tamil film Thiruchitrambalam. However, it is her co-star, Dhanush, who seems even more excited about her win. Taking to his social media pages, the actor expressed his joy over his co-star’s achievement. He wrote, “Congratulations team Thiruchitrambalam. It’s a personal win for me that @MenenNithya as Shobana has won the National Award. Big congrats to Jaani master and Satish master. It’s a great day for the team.” 

    Thiruchitrambalam won two National Awards in the categories of Best Actress and Best Choreography, with Jaani Master and Sathish Krishnan being recognized for their work.

Nithya Menen's win is particularly special, as it marks her first win in the Best Actress category at the National Film Awards. Her portrayal of Shobana resonated deeply with Tamil audiences, who are now celebrating her well-deserved victory.

    As revealed by actor Prakash Raj, Dhanush has reportedly begun work on his next directorial project and plans to cast his Thiruchitrambalam co-stars, Nithya Menen and Prakash Raj. Dhanush made his directorial debut with the 2017 hit Pa Pandi and recently released his second directorial venture, Raayan. During a recent promotional event, Prakash Raj shared that he and Nithya Menen have been approached to play protagonists in Dhanush's upcoming film. The project is currently in its pre-production stage.
