National Film Awards Ceremony 2024: Sooraj R Barjatya and Neena Gupta scale new 'heights' as they win big for Uunchai

This year’s National Awards have been announced. And all the deserving ones have duly rewarded. The list of winners is privy to the hard work and dedication that they have shown towards their craft. Amongst the list of this year’s winners happens to be the prolific filmmaker Sooraj R Barjatya and also the veteran actress Neena Gupta, both of whom won for their film Uunchai.

While Sooraj R Barjatya won the award for being the Best Director, Neena Gupta won the award for the Best Actress In A Supporting Role. After Sooraj R Barjatya won the award, his well-known production company Rajshri Productions took to social media and shared an extremely heartfelt note for him, congratulating him on his grand win.

They captioned the post as, ‘Sooraj R. Barjatya brings home the coveted Best Director award for his film Uunchai at the 70th National Film Awards held in New Delhi today. We share this win with every Rajshri fan across the country! Thank you for all the love!’.

On the other hand, there was the ace designer Masaba Gupta who took to social media and shared her emotional words after seeing her mother Neena Gupta winning the much-coveted Best Actress In A Supporting Role. On her part, Masaba wrote, ‘Will tell my baby NaniJi is the coolest and has been winning National Awards since 1994 with flowers in her hair #70thnationalfilmawards CONGRATULATIONS’.

In no time the comments section was filled with messages galore congratulating the veteran actress on her grand win. One user wrote, ‘She's so beautiful... One of my favourite actors. She is definitely the best. She’s truly deserves this award and every possible award for her role in the film. The film was a success no doubt. One of the major reasons was her acting in the film, which deserved even an Oscar!’
