Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu are set to reunite for their upcoming sequel, Akhanda 2. Previously referred to as BB4, the film is now titled Akhanda 2, serving as the sequel to their 2021 blockbuster, Akhanda.

Taking to social media, the makers announced the project with a motion poster. They wrote, “After a hat-trick of sensational blockbusters—#Simha, #Legend & #Akhanda...The blockbuster combo's #BB4 is #Akhanda2 - Thaandavam. This time, the EPIC MASSIVE COMBINATION will cause a divine vibration GLOBALLY. Shoot begins soon! 'GOD OF MASSES' #NandamuriBalakrishna.”

The new motion poster features an explosive theme with mythological references to Lord Shiva, as leading man Nandamuri Balakrishna promises to take on the role of a savior in his next outing. The makers kick started the proejct today with a puja ceremony.

The filmmakers have also announced that shooting will begin soon. On the technical side, composer S Thaman is set to return to create the original background score and soundtracks for the film.

What to expect from Akhanda 2?

Director Boyapati Sreenu, known for his high-octane action films, has crafted some of the most whistle-worthy movies with Balakrishna. While fans eagerly speculate about his next project, the motion poster provides some intriguing hints. The elements in the poster suggest that the film could be set in a historical period with fantasy elements. Nonetheless, fans are excited to see what this upcoming drama has in store!

For the unversed, the first installment, Akhanda, which was released in 2021, was a blockbuster hit. The movie starred Balakrishna, Pragya Jaiswal, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, and Srikanth in key roles.

Meanwhile, Nandamuri Balakrishna will next be seen in Bobby Kolli’s upcoming action thriller NBK 109 (tentative title). Touted to be an out-and-out action thriller, the film will feature Bobby Deol as the antagonist. The film's OTT rights have already been sold to Netflix.
