It quickly emerged as one of the best films to come out of Kollywood this year. He wrote, “Dear brother Karthi, I saw your film #SatyamSundaram last night! You and Arvind ji were just too, too good… I had a smile throughout watching you and went to sleep with the same smile. It brought back so many childhood memories… and also memories of our film #Oopiri. I’m so happy that people and critics are appreciating such heartwarming films! Kudos to the entire team!!”

For the unversed, Karthi and Nagarjuna previously shared screen space in the 2016 comedy-drama Oopiri, directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The film, made in both Tamil and Telugu, was an official remake of Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache's French film The Intouchables (2011).
