Naga Chaitanya, Sobhita Dhulipala are ENGAGED! Nagarjuna shares pics

After much speculation, it turns out that the rumours are all true. Setting the internet on fire, actor Nagarjuna announced the engagement of his son, actor Naga Chaitanya with Sobhita Dhulipala, on his social media pages. Sharing pictures from the engagement, the Telugu star penned a heartwarming note, celebrating their "infinite love".

The actor wrote, “We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! 8.8.8 A beginning of infinite love.”

The heartwarming photos feature the newly-engaged couple, Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala, being embraced by Akkineni Nagarjuna. Naga Chaitanya is dressed in a simple off-white sherwani, while Sobhita wore a peach-toned silk saree adorned with flowers, exuding Telugu bridal vibes.

Chaitanya and Sobhita’s hush-hush relationship

The star couple, who had been dating for a long time, have been very secretive about their relationship. Although they never made their relationship public, fans have spotted them together on many occasions and often noticed them posting pictures with similar backgrounds, further fueling the speculations.

Their dating rumours started after Naga Chaitanya separated from actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The former couple, who were loved by cinephiles, were married for four years. When they got divorced, the rumours around Chaitanya and Sobhita grew stronger, to the point where people began speculating if Chay cheated on Samantha with Sobhita. 

Fans are NOT happy

Following the announcement of Chay and Sobhita's engagement, fans have been expressing their disapproval of the new couple, calling Samantha "a better match for Chay." Many netizens have reacted negatively to the engagement post and do not seem to be rooting for the couple. A few have also expressed concern over Samantha’s well-being following the engagement announcement of her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya.
