Mita Vashisht says Shah Rukh Khan was sensitive during fight scene in Dil Se but she was disappointed because

Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se.. is one of the most iconic films of Bollywood that is still lauded for its impactful storytelling and soulful soundtracks. With Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala as the lead characters, the film also starred actress Mita Vashisht who recalled some instances from the shoot of Dil Se.. during an interview with The Lallantop.

During an interview with The Lallantop, Mita Vashisht recalled shooting a fight scene with Shah Rukh Khan. Mita revealed that he was very sensitive during the shoot. She recalled shooting a scene where Shah Rukh had to push her against the rocks, and he said that he would cover her head with his hands and then push her so that she would not get hurt.

Mita later expressed her disappointment when she said that the fighting scene was edited out of the film.

Speaking further about him, Mita revealed that when she reached the shoot, Shah Rukh was facing his back towards the crowd. When Mita asked him why he was standing with his back towards the crowd, he said that was the problem and before the shot, he turned towards the crowd and everyone went crazy. She even revealed that he got hurt on the head during the shoot but was calm and supportive.

Talking about her experience of working with Mani Ratnam, Mita replied that the director kept changing the script and she felt that he kept changing it because Manisha Koirala was the heroine and that disappointed her. The actress revealed that because she plays a trained terrorist in the film, she had worked a lot on her physique and biceps. She recalled shooting a scene in which she and Manisha were only wearing bomb vests and her biceps were showing. Mita added that after the first shot, Mani asked the costume designer to give her a t-shirt that covered her biceps because it was overshadowing the main lead of the film, Manisha and shot another take.

Mita Vashisht starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala in Mani Ratnam’s super hit film Dil Se.. released in 1998. The film tells the tale of Amarkant, played, played by Shah Rukh who falls in love with Meghna, a terrorist. The storyline features the changing dynamics of their love story once Meghna’s secret is revealed.
