'Missing Majnu & Uday': Akshay Kumar unveils first look of Welcome To The Jungle; fans want Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar

On the occasion of his birthday today (September 9), Akshay Kumar unveiled the first look of Welcome To The Jungle which will mark the third film of the franchise. The fans were surprised by a blockbuster cast comprising Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, Krushna Abhishek, Sharib Hashmi, Rajpal Yadav, Mika Singh, Daler Mehendi and many more. However, amidst this, fans were quick to spot the absence of the beloved Majnu and Uday Bhai aka Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar. This made many netizens feel that the franchise is incomplete despite having such a mammoth cast.

Talking about the same, the introductory teaser shows Akshay Kumar and the rest of the star cast wearing military uniforms and carrying guns and grenades with them. They can be seen singing in unison and some comedy of errors take place during the same. However, what grabs a lot of eyeballs is the coming together of so many stalwarts from comedy franchises like Hera Pheri, Golmaal, and Munna Bhai. The movie also marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon who are exes. The superstar captioned the same stating, “Khud ko aur aap sab ko ek birthday gift diya hai aaj. If you like it and say thanks, I’d say Welcome(3).” Take a look at the same.

One of the netizens stated, “Missing Majnu bhai & Uday bhai... Without them welcome series.” A user further added, “Anil kapur Nana patkar ke Bin Film Bekar hai.” A netizen went on to add, “NO WELCOME WITHOUT UDAY AND MAJNU.” A user also criticized Ahmed Khan directing the project. The comment said, “Why this director?! I really don't understand when they made all these amazing artists collaborate then why this terrible director to drive this vehicle?! Don't we have no one left?! This could have been so much more, I don't have a good feeling about this.”

Welcome To The Jungle has been bankrolled by Sajid Nadiadwala. It will be released on December 20, 2023. The first Welcome movie which was released in 2007 starred Akshay Kumar in the lead role and was a huge hit. The second film was released in 2015 minus the actor and was a box office dud.
