Meiyazhagan: Karthi reveals Suriya's priceless reaction after watching his movie and it is UNMISSABLE

Ahead of the release of Karthi and Arvind Swamy’s upcoming film Meiyazhagan, lead actor Karthi shared an interesting incident about his brother, actor Suriya, and his reaction after watching the film.

How did Suriya react to Karthi's Meiyazhagan?

During a promotional interview with a radio station, Karthi, who was seated with the cast and director C. Prem Kumar, opened up about Suriya’s response after watching the family drama. He revealed that Suriya gave him a warm hug, something he hadn’t experienced since his debut film Paruthiveeran (2007). Karthi shared, “After watching this film, he came up to me while I was eating, and just like that, hugged me. I think this kind of reaction is something I haven’t received since my debut in Paruthiveeran. It’s very special.”

He also mentioned that Suriya visited the sets of Meiyazhagan, joking that his brother’s visits would cause disruptions because of the large crowds that gathered whenever he was around.

Meiyazhagan teaser

Earlier, the makers unveiled the teaser, which begins with Arvind Swamy’s character attending a wedding, where Karthi’s character playfully calls him ‘Athaan’ (cousin), catching him off guard. Arvind Swamy plays a city dweller visiting his village, while Karthi portrays an eager and naive village boy who happily follows and assists him. While the full plot hasn’t been revealed, the teaser hints at an engaging story with emotional depth, directed by C. Prem Kumar, known for 96.

Meiyazhagan to clash with Devara

On September 27, 2024, Karthi's Meiyazhagan will be clashing with Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor's film Devara at the box office. Meiyazhagan stars Karthi and Arvind Swamy and is directed and written by C. Prem Kumar. Touted to be a family drama revolving around two cousins who become arch-enemies, the film also stars Sri Divya, who is reportedly playing Karthi’s sister in the film.

On the technical side, the cinematography is handled by Sathyan Sooryan, with music composed by Govind Vasantha. The film is bankrolled by Karthi’s brother, actor Suriya, along with his wife, actress Jyothika.
