Thinking of making a splash in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)? Elizabeth Olsen, the star behind Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, has some sagacious advice to offer. As she recently shared on Josh Horowitz's "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, she suggests newcomers to initially commit to a single Marvel project.

'Just Give Them One,' Advises Olsen

According to Olsen, this one-project strategy is key to achieving more "creative control" in future MCU outings. She elaborated, "That way you have more control over… If you, let’s say, ‘Oh my God, this is the most fun I’ve ever had and I love this character so much, I want to do it again,’ you now have more creative control for the next one."

Olsen's wit shone through as she jokingly added, "Don’t tell [David] Galluzzi that. [He’s] business affairs at Marvel.”

Olsen's Journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Elizabeth Olsen has been lighting up the MCU with her character, Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, since 2014. She has made appearances in a string of Marvel projects, including two "Captain America" films, the last three "Avengers" movies, and even nabbed a leading role in the TV spinoff "WandaVision." The Disney+ miniseries scooped up three Emmys in 2021, and Olsen herself garnered a nomination for lead actress in a limited series.

Kevin Feige, Marvel's president, had high praise for Olsen, admitting, "We only even would have dared attempt something like ‘WandaVision’ because Lizzie is such an outstanding actor.”

An upcoming "WandaVision" spinoff, "Agatha: Coven of Chaos," is on the horizon, promising to deliver more thrilling narratives from the MCU. On Wanda's future in the MCU, Feige noted, “There really is so much more to explore. We still haven’t touched on many of her core storylines from the comics.”
