Kannada superstar Sudeep unveiled the teaser of his upcoming movie Max on Tuesday. The promo video doesn't offer much but hints that this film is likely to indulge in unapologetic fan service.
The teaser opens with Sudeep's Max singing "Baa Baa Black Sheep." However, this is not a nursery rhyme, but a rhyme aimed at sending a strong message to rivals. It suggests that Max is the king of the jungle, and the rest of them are prey running to save their lives.
Based on the teaser, it's safe to assume that Max revolves around gangsters and their unquenched thirst for bloodshed. Sudeep plays a man ready for war, adopting a take-no-prisoners approach.
Max is written and directed by Vijay Kartikeyaa. The film has been designed to appeal to audiences across the country, aiming to be a "pan-India movie."
While Sudeep is a huge star in Karnataka, he is also a familiar face to audiences across the country. He has acted in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi movies, making him a "pan-Indian" star in his own right.
Notably, Max is bankrolled by Kalaippuli S. Thanu in collaboration with Sudeep's Kichcha Creations. The film will have a major release in Tamil Nadu. Sudeep previously shared the screen with Thalapathy Vijay in Puli. His 2012 fantasy drama Eega was also a huge hit with Tamil audiences.
Meanwhile, Sudeep is popular among Hindi audiences, thanks to movies like Rakht Charitra, Rann, and Dabangg 3.
Sudeep has been absent from the big screen for two years. His last movie, Vikrant Rona, came out in 2022. Max has been in the making for a long time and is now expected to hit the screens later this year. The filmmakers have not yet decided on the release date.
