Marco second look OUT: Unni Mukundan channels his inner devil in 'bloody' poster; fans find it 'terrific'

After teasing fans with a heartwarming poster from his film Get-Set Baby, the actor has taken fans by surprise with a violent and menacing second-look poster from his other highly anticipated film, Marco. Taking to social media, the makers of the upcoming crime thriller shared the new poster.

Unni Mukundan's second look from Macro is out

The team shared the look on Instagram and wrote, “Here’s Wishing A Kickass Birthday To our Ultimate Maverick. As promised, We bring you Unni Mukundan, like Never Before. Marco Is Blazing and Unni Mukundan is Literally on Fire! The Villain You Knew, The Hero You’re Gonna Meet, Bloody Soon (sic).”

The new poster features the actor looking dapper in a black blazer, ferociously holding a severed head in one hand, while gripping a cigar in his mouth. His character is seen donning a pair of black shades, stylishly yet devilishly looking towards the camera. The poster looks menacing, and fans are loving the actor’s new look. The poster has piqued the interest of audiences, who can't wait to witness the villain’s menacing avatar in the upcoming crime thriller.

Soon after the poster was shared, fans couldn't stop gushing over it. One fan wrote, "Terrific look for macro." Another fan commented, "Man this movie will lit boxoffice for sure." Others were seen dropping fire emojis in the comments section.

Directed by Haneef Adeni, Unni Mukundan plays a ruthless villain in Marco, a spin-off of Nivin Pauly’s film Mikhael (2019). Unni will reprise his role as Marco Jr., a cold-blooded gangster, in this crime thriller. The film is also said to be made on a massive scale, making it the highest-budget project in Unni Mukundan's career.

New poster screams Rolex vibes!

The second-look poster suggests that the makers are aiming for a menacing and ruthless villain, similar to Suriya's Rolex character in Vikram (2022). Like Rolex, Marco is a violent man driven by revenge for his brother’s murder. The posters reveal noticeable similarities between the two characters. However, unlike Rolex, Marco is described by Unni Mukundan as an 'unapologetically honest and brutal villain'. The actor also promised fans that Marco would stand out from the villains we have seen before.

Besides Unni Mukundan, the film will feature Abhimanyu Shammy Thilakan, grandson of the legendary actor Thilakan and son of Shammi Thilakan, along with Siddique, Jagadish, Anson Paul, and Kabir Duhan Singh in key roles. Yukti Thareja, of Lut Gaye song fame, will be playing the female lead. On the technical front, the cinematography is handled by Chandru Selvaraj, and the movie is produced by Sharif Muhammad and Abdul Ghadaf under the banners of Cubes Entertainments in association with Unni Mukundan Films. KGF's composer Ravi Basrur has scored a terrific background score and soundtrack for the film.
