Sai Pallavi, who is gearing up for her highly anticipated role as Indhu Rebecca Varghese in the late Major Mukund Varadarajan’s biopic Amaran, has already received plenty of appreciation from fans and audiences for her portrayal. However, the latest praise came from none other than the legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam.

The acclaimed filmmaker was recently invited to the pre-release event of the upcoming Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Amaran, where he shared some insights about the film. The Ponniyin Selvan director revealed that he is a huge fan of Sai Pallavi and expressed his desire to work with the actress someday.
Sai Pallavi, who was also at the event, could not contain her happiness and expressed her joy at being appreciated by the renowned filmmaker. The actress responded that she only knew a few directors in the industry when she entered it, and Mani Ratnam was one of them. She also revealed that the Ponniyin Selvan director was the reason behind her being selective about scripts and roles.
Mani Ratnam, who graced the event, also praised leading man Sivakarthikeyan for climbing the ladder of success and compared his popularity to that of other Tamil actors.
About Amaran
Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran narrates the emotional and brave story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, an Ashok Chakra recipient who was martyred during the Qazipathri Operation in Shopian in 2014. The film is loosely inspired by the non-fiction book India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes. Sai Pallavi plays the role of Mukund's wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese, in the film.
The film's OTT right has been secured by Netflix, and will be available on the platform after its theatrical release. Produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International, the movie features music by G.V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Ch. Sai, and editing by R. Kalaivanan.
Amaran is set to release on October 31, 2024.
