According to the latest report by PTI, the Mumbai Police has arrested 24-year-old Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a vegetable vendor for demanding a ransom of Rs 5 crore from Salman. The report also revealed, "He is being questioned by a team of Worli police. He will be brought to Mumbai for further action.”

For those unaware, last week the Mumbai traffic police received a message on WhatsApp from an alleged gang member of Lawrence Bishnoi demanding Rs. 5 crore from Salman Khan to end his feud with the dreaded gangster. The message also added that if Salman fails to pay the ransom, he will meet the same fate as his close friend Baba Siddique, who was shot dead by the same gang.

Soon, the same sender sent another message apologizing for the text and stated that the text was sent to the actor by mistake and didn't mean any real harm to him. But the Mumbai Police had already taken action and had located the sender in Jharkhand, with a special team sent to arrest him.

Death threats sent out to Salman Khan

In April this year, a gun-firing incident took place outside Salman Khan’s Mumbai home, Galaxy Apartments. The responsibility for the incident was taken by the members of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Later, Salman’s close friend and NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead by the members of the same gang. They claimed responsibility via a Facebook post. The message stated, “Anyone who helps Salman Khan or the Dawood gang should be prepared. If anyone gets any of our brothers killed, we will respond.”

Following this, Salman's security has been heightened. His house as well as the shooting locations are under severe surveillance.  Recently, he shot for his cameo in Ajay Devgn's Singham Again. The set was surrounded by almost 70 security personnel. Even while shooting for Bigg Boss 18, Salman is surrounded by heavy security.
